The Monarch Butterfly

Most people I know have no interest in driving 1,000 miles, much less 2,000 miles. But did you know the Monarch Butterfly flies 3,000 miles? This fragile little creature has caused the mouths of many a person to fall open because of its incredible abilities. In the butterfly's tiny body lies some molecules which have been discovered to detect the earth's magnetic field which gives this butterfly precise direction as to where to land. This insect in some way also communicates to its children that this 3,000 mile trip is split into four parts and which part of the trip they will be taking. This trip is repeated North to South and back again each year.
