"...40W incandescent bulbs so that they could be triggered by small, touchable switches. We put 8 bulbs, 12 ft apart, on the ceiling of a long hallway. A person could come to the interface, and either touch or blow on the switches to trigger the light-bulbs to go on. Each bulb and switch combo uses a relay. The relay closes the AC circuit when 5V are applied to its coil. We ran 5V through each bare switch, made simply from a hanging wire and an eye hook. Here are some pictures and video.
