Wow Jago! that's some of the best footage I have seen from a quad. And with a simple Gaui GU344! that is AMAZING.

Hey Jago, PhotoShip One have a few camera mounts, which one is good for gaui?
    thanks!
  • Jago Svensson 1 year ago
Photoship has 2 models for multi Rotor Helis. If you have a Canon 550d or smaller, then you can use the MKTR mount, if you have a 5D or similar you should go with the MKTR HD.

Just to be clear, The stock GAUI can not lift the 550d, it has to be modified quite a lot for carrying that much payload.

    Kind Regards

    Hello
    Very great picture, very nice
i have bought a similarly configuration But i look for a good motor (TR 35-42D 1000kv Brushless Outrunner) with propeller and esc (opto or not opto)
    can you help me ?
    Thanks a lot
  • Jago Svensson 1 year ago
    Hi.
Sorry I can not comment on a specific motor. However the 1000kv is very high for that size motor. It almost looks like a helicopter motor. If you run that on 4S you will have a very high load if you run bigger props. On 10" props it would work I think, but will be a lot of energy wasted. The opto / non opto would not really affect you I think. Standard ESC work well.

    Kind Regards

Excellent footage Jago. Do you have any schematics of your frame? Would like to build something similar. My Gaui 330x is on the way. Can't wait to modify it to lift my D5000
  • Jago Svensson 10 months ago
Hi! The frame is quite a simple construction in Aluminium using 15x15mm arms with 1mm walls.

I would suggest that you get used to your 330x before expanding it, if you did not fly before, there is a lot of practice needed before going bigger.

You need to do a big modification, or in other words, you can keep the GU344 gyro and the rest needs to be changed.

PM me if you want more details.

    Cheers!

I have been flying helis for a couple of years along with a mini indoor 4ch quadcopter. Of course i am not planning to modify immidietly need to get the feeling first.

I am not sure what you meant by 1mm wall. You mean the thickness of the material? Thnx for the info btw.

Last question: What about main plate dimensions? I am planning to install PS1 MKTR at some point. Any reccomendations?
  • Jago Svensson 10 months ago
My center plate is about 150x150 mm, but it could definetly be smaller. I did not have a CNC when i did it, so had to take what i had, it´s also done in 2mm Alu, not that light. Would do it now in fibreglass (1.5mm).

Brilliant. I can't thank you enough for these infos. Hopefully i ll be able to submit quality videos like yours one day for others to see.

Realty great work. I work in architecture and it would be great for me to have some gear like this.

How much is the aproximate final cost of your configuration? I have a 60D But I can use a smaller body if it's necesary.
  • Jago Svensson 7 months ago
    Thanx for the nice comments.
If you count in radio + batteries charger etc etc its closer to 3-4k USD.

For starters I would however recomend something smaller to get used to flying.

    Cheers!
    /Jago
