The trees (and bees) would like to thank you! Thanks to all the Comvita staff, their friends and families who spent a beautiful sunny Saturday morning helping to plant in the Kopurererua Valley. Congratulations one and all -- we planted a combination of 1700 natives (Kahikatea and flax) in just over an hour and a half...! 180 of the plants were Greenfleet trees to off-set the carbon emissions of our company vehicles.
This is all part of our City Partnership with Tauranga City Council; an initiative that is focused on working towards returning the valley to its natural state as a wetland area that local families can enjoy for many years to come. The Manuka trees that we have been planting over the past five years were beautifully in flower and attracting honey bees -- let's hope they make lots of Comvita UMF Manuka Honey.

A great morning planting was had by all; adults, kids and dogs. We shared a BBQ lunch to refuel. Thanks for a great team effort -- hope you are already looking forward to next year?
