Micheal O'Siadhail reads two poems, 'Between' and 'Transit', from the DVD-book IN PERSON: 30 POETS, filmed by Pamela Robertson-Pearce & edited by Neil Astley (Bloodaxe Books, 2008). Pamela has been filming poets reading their work for Bloodaxe's archive, website and DVD-books. These two poems by Micheal O'Siadhail are from his POEMS 1975-1995 (Bloodaxe Books, 1999). Micheal O'Siadhail [pronounced Mee-hall Oh Sheel] is a prolific Irish poet whose work sets the intensities of a life against the background of worlds shaken by change. He lives in Booterstown, on the edge of Dublin Bay. We filmed him on his 60th birthday, on a storm-lashed day in January 2007, when he was dressed up and about to head off for a big celebration event in Dublin.
