Canon 18-135 and 50mm f/1.8. Used a Fader variable ND filter for the exteriors to keep the shutter speed down to 30.

    why to 30? normally u use 1/50 (at 25fps or 1/28 at 24) =)
  • Ben Pender-Cudlip plus 10 months ago
I generally shoot with a shutter speed of 30, because I like the nice soft motion blur it gets me.

Great car, great story, great visuals and I totally agree that it should be kept just the way it is.

Great short! got a little teary eyed. I had an old Ford, a 1964 1/2 260 V8 Mustang Wimbledon white for 8 years. I got it when I was 19. I don't think I will ever have a car as fun and cool as that stang. Nice job Ben.

which iso did you use on the externals?
  • Ben Pender-Cudlip plus 9 months ago
Super-low (probably 100), and I controlled the overall exposure with a variable ND.

Your work stirred up in me those same emotions I felt as a budding young gearhead. Perhaps the owner could leave the patina but repair the rust so that the car won't dissolve. Beautiful camera work.
