I've picked up a ton of birdies and IF's coming from computers and keyboards over the years... I've always known its possible (tempest) but have never seen it done. Did you write the decoder software? Just curious...Why does it take so long to decode?..Its not encrypted or anything. I think you could go more than 20 meters with a properly tuned directional antenna system.

Could you please do some tests with clip-on RF chokes and report the difference? Also some keyboards have them built in to the cord (like the humps in power cords).. Do you know if they really make a difference?

Does it still work when you type passwords at a normal speed? I'm curious about the Faraday cage, too -- the answer seems pretty obvious, but I like the idea of top secret institutions taking this to heart and making Faraday cages part of their architecture. Is the paper available yet, or still being prepared?
