In this edition of Month in Focus, we follow MSF’s work in the immunisation of one million children in Congo (DRC) against measles. Next, in Grozny, we look at MSF's project to provide healthcare to the region where security remains a cause for concern. Thirdly, we gain an insight into MSF's HIV programme in Malawi. Ten years into the programme, MSF serves 18,000 people having initially started with just 500, showing that large-scale antiretroviral programmes are possible in precarious situations. Lastly we find ourselves on the narrow streets of the Burj al Barajneh refugee camp on the outskirts of Beirut. In two years MSF has counseled more than 1,000 patients. Many struggle to confront daily life where overcrowding, poverty and unemployment are rife.
