This is just a small demo of the WeighVGroup modifier I coded, using it to affect a vertex group’s weights then used as control by a Wave modifier…

If you use Debian testing amd64 (or a compatible Linux distro), you can now test this modifier with this custom build on graphicall.org:

graphicall.org/68

And if you are a Windows user, you can try this one :

graphicall.org/71

No, not yet released on official svn (I’m not a developer, I don’t even have a svn access…).

But I built a custom Blender with it, for GNU/Linux (Debian testing amd64), available on graphicall.org:

    graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=1731

Else (ie other OS/architecture), you’ll have to compile a patched version (see wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Mont29/WeightVGroup ).

I hope this makes it into trunk!!!

This adds KEY functionality that is needed in Blender ATM. Until a houdini-style full nodal implementation is added to blender(like some of the great branches in progress now!!!), this is a great interim solution

    Thanks !

And yes, there’s hope I can get it accepted in trunk before 2.58 release ;)
