The Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry Project is doing some ground-breaking work in forestry restoration and stewardship on PEI. This is the first of a series of videos celebrating forest life on Prince Edward Island.
Macphail Woods currently manage over 2000 acres of public land; educate hundreds of youth annually through summer camps and school planting projects; cultivate native tree, plant, and flower species in their nursery; offer educational walks and talks for the public; host a university course through UPEI; and generally advocate for a healthy ecosystem on PEI and throughout the world. Their restoration of the acadian forest is regarded as some of the top efforts in their field.
Here's to Macphail Woods' 20th year of operations! May the good work continue and grow.
