our new hood

mark and i finally got our house rented out. we move into our micro condo in a week. tonight we brought some painting supplies down to spruce it up before moving in. next week a new carpet gets installed in the bedroom.

things i love about our new hood are...

* it has a gorgeous view of lake michigan

* it's in the gayborhood

* lots of vintage buildings all around (ours was originally a hotel built in the 1930's)

* the people in our building are super friendly and younger

* there's park behind our bldg to walk the doggies.

* whole foods in the closest grocery store

* lots of cool independently owned shops and restaurants surround us

* the bus to the loop is a block away

* the L is a few blocks away

* we're within walking distance to wrigley field

* our favorite art house is a walk away

* it has a bike room

* it has a little gym

i'm sure it will be difficult for us to make the transition from the burbs to the city.let's face it. the space is a lot smaller too.
