Really beautiful work, Edo. Did you add the HDR effect to each frame individually or in some kind of batch file?
  • Edo - Timelapse.it plus 11 months ago
thanks:) I use the batch function in photomatix

Wow! I mean Wow! It is simply & truly Amazing! I love the dichotomy of the fast pace time-lapse motion juxtaposed with the smooth slow jazz track, set against the beautiful Miami skyline at sunset. Again....Wow! Is Edo Spanish for Yoda;-)

Really beautiful. Filmic, slick, pro! Great HDR processing - you must have a farm of Mac's or PC's dealing with all that raw data! :-)
  • Edo - Timelapse.it plus 9 months ago
thanks Richard! usually I don't shoot in raw mode but in jpeg. I've realized that when I processing hdr into a 1920 QT movie the difference between raw and jpeg is very very thin.. but don't tell to anybody ;)

Very impressive Edo - I saw your video through Linked In in the Travel and Tourism section.

There is obviously hundreds of hours of work in this production, from the initial shoots to the long hours in post. The HDR sequences especially are really well done!

I'm curious to know how many images did you shoot (approximate is fine) of each scene to create the time lapse sequences? Did you use a special timer to trip the camera's shutter?

And if I may ask, what software did you use for processing, editing and assembling the images, before making the final QT movie?

Muchos gracias for sharing your wonderful show :-)

    Cheers,
    Frederic in Montréal

Hi Fredric, thanks for your comment!
yes, you are right, It was really a long work.. we are talking about 214,494 total photo took in Miami during 1 month, for about 213,9 GB of material.. :)
I can't tell you an approximate number of photo for each timelapse, it depend from how many hours you'll spend for each one (sometime 1 hour, other 5, 8..)
I use the pclix timer for controlling the camera, with all setting set in manual mode.
the software I used is photomatix for HDR image, then aftereffects to create QT clips.
Timelapse is a job for very patients people.. ;)

ciao from edo in Rome :)

Thanks for the info Edo - most helpful. I've done a few time lapse shows involving a couple of hundred images, but no where near the number you took. Gawd, you must have multiple hard drives or scuzzie drives to store and process all those images!!! IBM (or Seagate, WD etc) must love you!

I should have known from the last name you were Italian and not Spanish! Were you visiting or working in Miami that you had a month to shoot all those scenes?

    All the best,
    Frederic in Montréal
  • Edo - Timelapse.it plus 8 months ago
yes Frederic, HD space is a big problem, I always need more and more GB... I was working in Miami for a company who needed some cool image of the city :)
    best.

Very compelling, Edo - also inspires me to get to work on HDR time lapse (I recently got Photomatix Pro and am learning how to use it in batch mode). Great color and sooooo smooth. Kudos.

hey Ed. thanks a lot for your comment :) I worked really hard on this video.. HDR is a very difficult land, I try to make them not too much like cartoon.. but is not simple. keep doing your nice Timelapse, I hope to see soon also your HDR. ciao!
