Excellent edititing and content. I never race without a 5 point harness. Folks say it was better way back when...NOT!

Well, it looks like there could've been some benefit of the drivers being thrown clear, especially when the open cockpit racers dug into the dirt. Roll bar? What roll bar? :)

Considering the nature of many of the crashes in this film, it is amazing to me how many times the drivers just walk away. I'd assume there would be a pile of bodies at the end of a race. WOW!

45,000 people die every year in the USA in Motor Vehicle Accidents. 30,000 die worldwide every day from starvation related causes. Untold numbers are aborted before ever getting a chance to make it to this planet. So now you know.

I think old racing incidents like these are what make my mother cringe when I say I'm going to the track.

I imagine the joyous mournfulness of this footage and song combination is somehow felt deeper by those of us who killed ourselves when we were young. Some of us survived, but if you can relate then you know what I mean.
