This was the only leopard we saw during five days in Kruger Park, and it wasn't exactly easy to spot. It was lying between a couple of trees at the bottom of a small valley, probably 50 yards or more from the road.
Once you'd spotted it, either with binoculars or via a camera's zoom, it was possible to see it with the naked eye, but I've no idea how the very first person to spot it was able to pick it out.
Later in our trip, we were seemingly always 30 seconds too late for leopards crossing the road. At least 3 times, we were told that a leopard just sauntered across the road, casual as you like, and we'd JUST missed it...
