The Brazilian and American Youth Cultural Exchange, BRAYCE, holds an annual festive event to celebrate and to benefit the Brazilian and American Youth Exchange (BRAYCE) in lovely Chester, CT. The Calder family founded BRAYCE in 2005 to provide cultural opportunities especially for the underprivileged youth of Brazil and Rio de Janiero.
The Samba Rio Program on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, included a Welcome Presentation by David Sandmann and BRAYCE President Caitlin Calder, a Commencement of Samba Parade with the Trinity Samba (Batucada Percussion) and Quenia Ribeiro (Samba Dancer). Additional music by the Jose Paulo group, and many festive celebrants in the happy crowd. There was great Brazilian style food by the Ivory Restaurant and a silent auction, prizes galore, and fun fun fun!
