Thank you for those. Do you have any tricks for cutting keys against a white background instead of green/blue?
  • myaka 1 year ago
Most part keyed via luma-key, hair cutted via luma matte, white parts iside object restored with manually animated masks. 1 15 sec movie usually takes 3-4 hours to cut.

Amazing work!! thanx for sharing :]
how can u combine all those keying u said, on one video file? i mean, the luma key+luma matte for the hair part? is it all by multiple masks working simultaniously?
wow, just yesterday, i had to mask a person out for 4 seconds. it took me Hours to get it precised! :$ so, much respect for your work! :]
  • myaka 1 year ago
Yep, one mask for hair, one for face, several for body, 1 for place where shoes meets floor. Different approaches for different regions. It is really not that hard if you doing it often. Thanks for commenting!

This is incredible stuff. You don't use green for chroma key much? It looks so clean with white!

just curious why your using a white sweep instead of a green/blue sweep. Is it just practical reasons?
  • myaka 1 year ago
because of DV problems. with luma keying pic looks a bit clearer on edges.

Is that a lego motion control system or something for the turning shoes?
  • myaka 1 year ago
LOL man, lego was used as bearing for shoe. As matter of fact it was first thing to strike our eye and nothing more.
Rotation was done by special rotating podium usually used in jewelry store for displaying rings.
