35. Sloth - Seven Deadly Relational Sins
The very ubiquity of indifference should give us pause... Kathleen Norris, Acedia and Me, Page23

Definition: Sloth is a sad, restless and ungrateful boredom in the face of spiritual good. It is spiritual joylessness, carelessness, jadedness, thanklessness, unfruitfulness, lovelessness and hopelessness. What it's not, inefficiency (being slow) resting or relaxing (there's a time and a place for this) times of depression or inability to proceed, it's not even mere laziness (its more restless than this more miserable more careless.) Cornelius Plantinga, Theologian

A slothful person believes in nothing, enjoys nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, loves nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing and only remains alive because there is nothing he would die for.
Robert McCracken, What is Sin? What it Virtue?

Sloth makes what is of ultimate importance, not worth the effort.
Speaker/Writer Tony Campolo

So be careful how you live, not as fools but as those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days.
The Apostle Paul in his letter to the Ephesians, chapter 5:15-16
