I often get asked about what gear I use for work, so this is a quick-like rundown of some regular-use items. Hope this helps and thanks to those for putting in the requests and pushing me to put out content!

This video amazing. Really, thanks a ton on the insight for the sound gear. Lots of love and respect from India Glen!

thanks kabir. not the cheapest/start up gear by any means - but a lot of what people in the industry are currently using, at least I think anyway.

How do you like the verizoom?
  • Glenn McElhose plus 11 months ago
jeremey! what's up! the verizoom is pretty cool but for trying out only once so far it still bounces up and down a bit, not as smooth as a steadicam - but will probably get better with practice. zen style walking will help!

It looks interesting. For our 7D,we've got a Merlin with the vest/ robo arm and it's a beast. The learning curve is steep though, and I haven't quite perfected it. I'm always browsing other stabilizers. We've also got a Redrock "theEvent 2.0" slightly adapted to mount a Zoom and a light. That's my default, and works well.

Loved the video. We should make the drinks with Nico and Ahull happen.

nice - would love to check it out. maybe we can shoot an addition to this piece, would be great to get input from others in the industry as well. the same friend that lent me the varizoom has an actual 'real deal' steadicam, so maybe I can borrow that and we can mess around some. regardless, yes, nico & a.hull - let's make it happen!

Any recommendations for wireless lav mics that are a bit cheaper than $800? :\
  • Glenn McElhose plus 10 months ago
    those mics are $600. bhphotovideo.com/c/product/618741-REG/Sennheiser_EW_112P_G3_B_EW112_p_G3_Camera_Mount.html
i haven't tried many other mics - but I would say that if you want to go cheaper - get wired lav mics. cheap wireless mics don't sound like a good idea. static hits on audio are difficult to clean up and you'll spend more time on that than if you had just gone with a decent mic to begin with. there are certain pieces of gear to cheap out on - but i don't think wireless mics would be one of them.
