Over a fourteen year period, from 1995 until 2008, the Rootstein Hopkins Foundation gave £8 million of awards to help artists, art students, art galleries, and colleges of art and design to realise their ambitions. The foundation felt that that its story, of how a modest sum of money could help t make a positive difference to the visual arts in the UK, was worth telling: as legacy of what had been achieved, and as an example and inspiration to other would be benefactors of the arts. This website records that story.
