Really cool use of the D90.

How did you manage to make it look so filmy? What did you need to do to get this 180 degrees like shutter?
  • if we are talking creativity here, maybe piece of black cardboard taped to lens?

Hate to "me too" it, but I second GPSchnyder's comment and question!

You got a great look out of the D90... how did you get the look of a 180 deg shutter?

Its very nice to see you using the D90 properly! This is the first time ive seen anyone using it in a pro-sense and it makes me happy as now I know for sure I need to get one when they come out.

Awesome footage. Did you use any lighting in the indoor scenes? If yes, what kind of light did you use? Once again, fantastic work!

Nice work. The revolution is in full force. Now how did you tweak the D90 to look so good?

Try Lee Wilson's D90 aliasing fix on this awesome video and it'll be a killer. Colors are very interesting. Blur is beautiful. Very catchy editing. Good lights.

    WOW !!!

    F*cking beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I originally wanted to get this cam for music video shoots (replace the GL2 & renting HVX all the time- did some research - then thought about the 5d M2, although 1080p IS better than 720p (of course), the Canon's 30fps can't touch the Nikon's 24fps! I am ordering one now!

Hi! When I film with my d90 indoors I get problem with rolling shutter / light waves. How did you manage to remove these "waves".
  • Ramon Boutviseth plus 3 years ago
No way to avoid, you have to hold it still and do the best you can and then edit around it.

please let me know what you do to keep the quality of the video. What editor did you use that supports the motion jpeg codec? I have put hours into figuring this out, and I almost gave up and returned the camera but this video gave me hope for its potential. please let me know what you did!

Are you using a Mac? I use Adobe premiere to edit with no transcoding needed, right out of the camera. Maybe its a mac thing? I'm on a XP platform.
  • Ramon Boutviseth plus 3 years ago
I usually edit on mac, but for this video I used sony vegas, it supports mjpeg natively. hope this helps.
  •
  • ky wildermuth 3 years ago
i tried sony vegas, and it does not support the mjpeg in my version atleast.. I have vegas platiunum 8.0, i am guessing you used pro and/or 9.0. That must be my problem so can you give me the specific version used? Thanks!
  • Ramon Boutviseth plus 3 years ago
I have sony vegas pro 8.0
