Gansevoort Hotel Owner, Arik Kislin, has a "Purpose" besides building hotels.
The philanthropist was honored for the time he spends and his generous contributions to Be'er Hagolah, a school in Brooklyn.
Be'er Hagoloah provides free education to Russian immigrant children who come from abuse, neglect and poverty. 99% of these children go on to college.
Arik sees himself as a child when he visits the school. He is from Odessa in the former Soviet Union and can relate to the struggles these children face to fit in to a new culture.
Watch this video, it is truly magical.
