A special GO! Network presentation - On Tuesday, March 1st, we were joined by a panel of Human Resources professionals and consultants to answer questions about hiring and placement in St. Louis. Moderated by Amie Dulay-York, HR Manager of Graybar Electric Company, members of Human Resource teams from Graybar, Scottrade, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Right Management participated in a panel discussion, touching on topics such as:
- Dealing with over qualification
- Age bias (fact or fiction)
- Usage of online career search engines
- Non-resume based marketing materials
- Are your skills transferable?
and questions directly from audience members.
The session started with "Drive & Control Your Career in Today's Recruiting World" with Amie Dulay-York, HR Manager of Graybar Electric Company, followed by a lively & interactive discussion with our panel of HR professionals.
About our Presenter:
Amie Dulay-York, is the Corporate HR Manager for Graybar Electric Company, a Fortune 500 Distributor of Electrical Components, where she works at a multi-state level in providing effective consultation and recommendations to managers on all aspects of employee relations and human resources issues. Amie is experienced in full-cycle recruitment and strategy implementation for Graybar at the corporate level. Historically, Amie has a dynamic legal background with education from SLU Law, Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies from Webster, and experience as a Paralegal, coupled with seven years of experience in HR.
Amie serves on the Board of Directors for Saint Louis Internship Program; Acts as Chairman of Young Friends of Marian Middle School; and is a past participant in the Miss Missouri USA pageant. She resides in Oakville with her husband Adam and will complete her Master's degree in Business Management from Fontbonne University in May 2011.

Hera Didway, HR Manager at Graybar; is an accomplished Human Resources professional with proven experience aligning HR initiatives with strategic business objectives at Fortune 500 companies. She currently holds the position of HR Manager at Graybar, a leading distributor of high quality electrical, communications, and networking products that is one of the world's largest employee-owned companies with a 140-year history of entrepreneurial innovation.
In her role at Graybar, Hera helps design and implement recruitment strategies. Prior to coming to Graybar, Hera worked as a Corporate Recruiter for Anheuser-Busch InBev. Hera’s areas of expertise include: recruitment, workforce planning, HR policies & procedures, performance management, training & development, employer branding, and project management. She has a master’s degree in HR from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a top graduate program in the field.
Judy Pannett, Senior Career Management Consultant and Executive Coach with Right Management; specializes in the areas of organizational and individual change. Her focus has been to assist individuals and organizations maximize their potential and enhance performance. She excels in coaching individuals to achieve career goals. She is a Recognized leader, coach, facilitator, trainer and presenter whose enthusiasm and focus helps create highly effective individuals and teams. She is a certified Master Trainer in Building Organizational Agility and has been the point person in the St. Louis office for implementing and delivering Right Management’s signature Career Edge and Life Options Programs. Judy has conducted numerous leadership consulting and development assignments to help leaders at all levels, from key leadership to middle managers and supervisors, to develop critical behaviors and leadership skills. These assignments have included both individual and team members focusing on executive career coaching and development. This was achieved by establishing trust and credibility delivering comprehensive assessment and feedback as well as issues-based coaching.
Judy is a co-founder of the Center for Women in Transition and has been a member of the Executive Committee and Advisory Board of Directors as well as having served on community Boards in Leadership positions. Judy earned a M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Missouri and a BA in Psychology from Webster University.
Kari Meece, Headquarters, Branch and Internship Recruitment Supervisor for Scottrade, Inc.; works with management to set and lead recruitment and retention strategies. She is involved with Social Media, Branding, Diversity and Training efforts within the firm.
Kari has over 10 years of combined Human Resources, Recruiting, Marketing, Training and Career Consulting experience within the Financial Services, Information Technology and Healthcare industries. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management from Missouri State University in Springfield, as well as graduate level education including coursework in Human Resources Management and Urban Policy from The New School University in New York City.
Kari serves on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Business Leadership Network helping businesses access more qualified applicants with disabilities. She also serves on the Workforce Readiness Committee as an HRMA member and is also a member of SHRM.
Lyndsey Havill, Selection Specialist at Anheuser-Busch InBev; joined Anheuser-Busch in 2010. As the Selection Specialist, she is responsible for leading and participating in projects to design, develop, manage and evaluate selection systems. Lyndsey also steers up the Global MBA program and participates in various recruitment initiatives.
Lyndsey is currently at the University of Missouri, St. Louis (UMSL) in their PhD program for Industrial Organizational Psychology. She is a 2008 graduate of the UMSL with a Master of Arts degree in Psychology. Lyndsey received her B.S. in Psychology from Purdue University in 2005. Her professional memberships include the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the Gateway Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (GIOP) and Southern Management Association (SMA).
Emily Hubert, Workforce Planning & Recruitment Specialist at Anheuser-Busch InBev; joined Anheuser-Busch in 2010 as a member of the Talent Acquisition team. As a Workforce Planning & Recruitment Specialist, she supports the recruitment and selection efforts of several A-B Corporate groups, the ABI Global Headquarters office in New York, NY, and various U.S. brewery locations. Emily is also leading various projects related to the continuous improvement of A-B employer branding, new employee programs, and innovations in recruitment practices.
Emily received her M.A. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December of 2009. Prior to pursuing a career in human resources, she received her B.S. in Economics and Political Science in May of 2008, also from the University of Illinois
