When introducing a mated queen to a colony, it is generally considered best to release the attendants. I can't say I'd recommend this if you are not yet comfortable with bees (you may have to grab the queen off the window and put her back in the cage).
I'll admit to knowing better and doing this outside...and chasing the queen all over the yard...probably more amusing to the neighbors than watching us chase the chickens!
