A small video taken during a short stay in Granada in Spain.
The video was taken with my faithful camera Sanyo HD1000.
This video was edited with Final Cut Pro, I used Magic Bullet Looks and Colorist.

How do you get the Movies into Final Cut?
I have a lot of trouble when using Final Cut to transfer them. I always get a Error that the Media isn´t supportet or the file structure is bad.

    Thx!

I don't use the the files straight from the HD1000, I convert them into prores format then I edit them in FCP.

There is another very useful thing that you must do to avoid reading problems on OS X with 1920x1280 60i from th HD1000 : load and install the avc1Decoder component for os x

    Ak ok!
I think the Transfer Dialog in FC is very usefull, because it automatically converts into ProRes.

Probably I´ll give it back. I´m looking for a simple solution and don´t want to google all the time ;)

Do you have a tip regarding to the autofocus?
  • Kingofpunk 1 year ago
The autofocus in th HD1000 drive me a little bit crazy sometimes, I put the camera on manual mode sometimes if I have time, but really , ihave the same problem as others h1000 users

    nice colors
I also have the Xacti HD 1000 with the same pbs like others users, autofocus which should be disconnected for manual setting, shaky cam.... but can create sometimes marvelous image.
Im very surprise of the effect of the smoothcam from FCP,i thought you used a tripod.
Sorry for me i only have a windows system;)
  • Kingofpunk 1 year ago
Thanx rob, don't be sorry I am a windows user to, I use Os X only for doing my video stuff.

ok but im really impressed by the smothness obtained with your method and FCP,now you make me desire working with FCP.....but i don't have a mac, do you install your os x and windows in the same computer in double partition??or have you got a dedicated ordi for your video stuff??
I choose a recent pc only because with mac in the recent past there is pbs with the xacti folders and edition and also because i wanted to have magic bullet but i do not have a filter like your smothcam(not in vegas, not in studio ultimate)
I saw you leave in paris and as you can notice I m french, do you speak french,it will be esiar for me.-)
  • Kingofpunk 1 year ago
Despite that I am not french, I can speak it, but I think it's better to use english to share our experience, anyway feel free to send me private messages in french.

My PC is a from another galaxy it contains both operating systems : Vista and Os X
I could install and boot Os X with a special USB key called EFI-X ... voilà

there are a bunch of extensions and drivers for Os X to allow it to use the Xacti file format with no problem, I will put a link a little later.

    really nice vid again! :))

for all with af-problems: use the short cut button for setting and unsetting the af before or during the shooting, helps a lot.
  • Kingofpunk 1 year ago
Yes, you are right, thank you to mention it because it's really helpful

GREAT job! Seems you used a tripod, perhaps. Beautful scenery!!
  • Kingofpunk 1 year ago
    Thanx Scott
I didn't use a tripod, but I used the Final cut pro plugin Smoothcam to take off the shake effect from lightweigth camera like the HD1000

I liked the compositions and the music paced the footage quite well. Thanks for sharing.
