He made the ultimate sacrifice to keep other drivers safe. Deputy Ken Collier was killed in a crash while trying to stop a drunk driver going the wrong-way on Highway 52 in Santee on February 28, 2010. A year into his passing, his fiancée, family, friends and his colleagues at the Sheriff's Department honored his memory with a photo dedication ceremony at The William B. Kolender Sheriff's Museum on Monday (February 28, 2011).
