A. Prof. Elaine Lally
Bio: Elaine Lally is Associate Professor in Creative Practices, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the
University of Technology, Sydney. She researches in the areas of art and technology as material
culture, and the role of arts and culture in regional development (especially in Western Sydney). She
is one of the Chief Investigators of the Art of Engagement project, and is also finalising a partnership
project with the Blue Mountains City Council to develop a strategic approach to community
information management. Other recently completed projects have included: New Media Arts Scoping
Study (for the Australia Council, 2006); The Changing Communications Service Delivery Paradigm
(for the Communications Alliance, 2008); Impossible Choices: Complexity and Dissatisfaction in the
Telecommunications Consumer–Service Provider Relationship (for the Communications Alliance, 2009);
and Bridging Worlds, Linking Cultures: An Electronic Planning Tool for Western Sydney. Associate Professor Lally is the author of At Home with Computers (Berg, 2002).
