There are only a few places in Southwest Florida where you can spend the day on a barrier island where there are no cars, no bridges to the island, and little or no development. Caladesi Island is one of those places.
To get there, I drove across the causeway from the City of Dunedin to Honeymoon Island. Then I caught the Caladesi Ferry for a 20 minute boat ride to Caladesi Island State Park. This is a short video of the trip.
