I'm needing to create some cartoony splashes for an upcoming spot, and really wish I had the functionality of the old Softimage 3d metaball system inside Maya 2011.

I found a 6-yr old post that suggested using dynamic booleans to fake metaballs inside Maya that I thought I'd fool around with.

The purpose of going down this road is seeing if I can avoid dropping $4K for Real Flow - which I know will do a kick-ass job.
