Benjamin Zephaniah reads his poem 'To Do Wid Me' from IN PERSON: 30 POETS, filmed by Pamela Robertson-Pearce & edited by Neil Astley (Bloodaxe Books, 2008). Pamela has been filming poets reading their work for Bloodaxe's archive, website and DVD-books. This poem by Benjamin Zephaniah is from his collection TOO BLACK TOO STRONG (Bloodaxe Books, 2001). Benjamin Zephaniah is an oral poet, novelist, playwright, children’s writer and reggae artist. Best known for his performance poetry with a political edge for adults – and his poetry with attitude for children – he has his own rap/reggae band. We filmed him at his home in November 2007.

A poem that says something - excellent. Always liked Zephaniah and it's great to see him perform. Thanks very much for posting Neil.

Thanks Ian. I hope we will have more stuff you'll like soon. And Benjamin will be performing at Live Theatre early this year - date not yet confirmed.
