Canon XH-A1
Preset: Panalook

I have done the titles and a level in after effects.

The Vimeo compression makes the video look really dark...

  • I dig the video. very crisp and clean. The dof on the a1 is great isn't it?

    I know I love mine!

I also really dig how you created those opening titles. simple but really nice!!

looks really good, do you know where I can find the settings for the panalook preset and the vivid rgb preset.

I use my xha1 professionally, corporate videos music videos etc.. and I am constantly blown away by how good this camera is. There is some very high quality xha1 footage on vimeo !!

Do you know if when shooting in 24f/30f on this camera that you must de-interlace afterwards or do you not need it since you are technically shooting in "progressive" anyways? I am trying to avoid loss in detail and resolution, which I know de-interlacing footage does
    Thanks

The sensor in the camera is a 60i sensor, so you're never technically shooting progressive, how ever, the camera uses 2:3 pull down which means it takes parts of frames and creates whole frames in the 24/30f frame rates, long answer short, you don't need to deinterlace, how ever I recommend exporting in a progressive format

yeah if you're exporting as a quicktime movie it never hurts to check the 'de interlace' box anyway.

    Awesome clip, very film like!

There is no pulldown in HDV mode, 24F and 30F are recorded as progressive.
