Hearts, Trees, and Cardboard Dreams was made by Pecos Bill and the Wranglers, a group of students from Pittsburgh for the 72 Fest in Frederick Maryland. The group wrote the made the entire set in a little over 12 hours, filmed the next day and edited the rest of the footage in the time that allowed. Arrah and the Ferns were gracious enough to let them use their song, "Skylark" for the film. Hearts, Trees, and Cardboard Dreams won the Audience Choice, Raise the Roof, and Head of Class (Best Student Film) awards at the 72 Fest. Pecos Bill and the Wranglers also entered the film into the Northway Oakland Filmfest where it won 1st place. Pecos Bill and the Wranglers would like to thank everyone who made it possible, including the town of Frederick Maryland.
