Davey Dance-BLOG. A project started while traveling Europe during Spring 2007. Armed only with an ipod and a Canon PowerShot, Davey picks a location and a pop song. Then Davey records an improvised dance.

Some tourists go and passively take, take, take... but you actively gave, gave, gave. Way to participate and innovate.

That's actually an extraordinary site in East Berlin. There are thousands of Russian soldiers buried between where Davey is standing and the statue at the far end (which appears in the bottom right). I believe it's about 5,000 buried here of the approximate 80,000 Russians who died in the Battle for Berlin. They are buried in a series of mass graves shaped in squares. Also, regarding the statue at the far end.. This is actually the location of the only swastika still in existence in the entire nation of Germany. The symbol is being stomped on by the Russian soldier comprising the main part of the statue.

Yeah. It was fascinating to be there. The structures are magnificent and the statue of the Russian soldier standing on the swastika, while carrying a small child is haunting.
