Thanks to F.D for the cool idea--found out some pretty interesting things I never knew about my birth year.
Hopefully you'll enjoy...

Beautiful, man. Simply beautiful. I really liked the way you combined stills with archival footage and how you managed to pack in so much information.
I've been toying with the idea of creating a video almanac/wiki -- short informational films -- and I think your video is a great template for others to follow.
Outstanding job.

Really fine piece ,, brings back some memories;
seeing Hendix play w the experience, seeing Hair @ the Joseph Papp Public Theatre (Which it opened in the former Astor library) Moon walk, etc very inspiring. Fuzzy's da Man great idea.
i don't think i would have been a hippie though.
hmm.... more like an Easy Rider type.
Again...EXCELLENT!
quick question..
where did you get the old video footage, and how did you download it/convert it?
Footage was found through my favorite means...
Google video. Here's the thing though. It pulls Youtube and other videos into the mix, but if you find one tagged with a google video URL, some of the times it will come up with a button to allow you to save it. I usually save it a an mp4 and bring into iMovie. Unfortunately there are only a few clips done this way and many cooler clips I would have liked to use were unable to be saved.
I also have a program at work I'll get back to you on that allows you to take like "moving screenshots" used for computer onscreen tutorial type videos. It allows you to capture the video and save as quicktime.
Hopefully this helps...
Thanks for the nice comments!

Also, to convert avi/flv and other video files, i use VisualHub:

I'm kinda glad I didn't watch this one before making mine. It would have set the bar so much higher.
Thanks again, Jay!
