Brian Mullin 1 year agoThis is a fascinating speech because not only does it clearly explain the crisis and it's ramifications, but it also offers a solution - and it's not pretty. -

M. Green 1 year agoThis is one of the most educational presentations that I have seen concerning what is facing Americans today moving forward with the new administration. There is more truth, logic, & sensibility in what Mr. Enriquez had to say then what I have heard recently from politicans and media analysts. -
Kris Manos 1 year agoJuan, you have a way with words and images! Thanks for sharing. -
Moses Miranda 11 months agoJuan, that was a simple and straight forward presentation which a I agree in most parts but you point to the subprime loans as the starting point... yes and there were other mortgage lenders doing loans that were not subprime and Fannie Mae. There were many those "NoDoc" loans (credit score + pay a 1/4 more rate) and other aggressive mortgage products that made it easier for people to qualify for a loan. There is Greenspan who quickly raise the fund rates before retiring which lead to adjustable mortgages to change quickly. There will be a lot of people that won't be able to buy a real property for a long time due to credit issues. The industry that drives this economy is Real Estate. Fix it and the economy will become stable. -
Lisa Pinero 9 months agoI am echoing what everyone else here has already said. This is the most honest and accurate and simple explanation of our current (and sadly worsening) situation I have seen. I also second the recommendation for the "This American Life" podcast of the episode titled "The Giant Pool of Money." I am disappointed that Obama has put Tim Geithner and his team in charge of Treasury and of trying to fix this mess. A mess which he helped create and worsen while "on watch" during both the Clinton and G.W. Bush administrations. This video should be required viewing for every U.S. citizen.
