1. THE EEL (2004)
Directed by Dominic Hailstone
Music by Robert Clunne
A short horror film about an Eel who gets bored and comes out for a party.
The film was made in response to hearing the track 'where what' by Robert Clunne, who became a friend of mine whilst I was living in Australia.
It was produced over a six month period and cost three hundred pounds to make.
Apart from the Eel puppet, all the fx were made using selotape, bamboo, condoms and stockings. It was made deliberately low tech and low budget to see how far I could push myself.
If anybody wants more info, please contact me here or on my relevant Myspace or Facebook pages.
Thanks,
Dominic.

I salute you.
The Thing's better. How dare you!!
the new cunningham?
the world's at your feet.
Again, amazing work Dominic!
I've always been curious about how that strobing effect is done - how the head moves at 4:15 and the long neck at 4:21. It's in a lot of Cunningham's work as well. Could you explain it for us? Thanks!
It's just sped up footage.
I have seen Legacy before - I think we shared a bill at a film festival once. It's a great short, very impressive character design and mood.
I'm confident this inspired "Rubber Johnny".
I'm very interested in the puppet's movement. What were some of the challenges when working with it?
