Rough Cut: 3

For the third element of the Twilight City project, Hive commissioned Chris Watson and Matthew Herbert to produce audio works using recordings taken from Crosby Beach, site of Antony Gormley's 'Another Place', an installation of 100 iron statues facing out to sea. Chris spent a week recording on Crosby Beach in July. During this week Matthew travelled to Liverpool and he and Chris visited Crosby Beach together, listened to initial recordings and discussed their collaboration. At a later date, Chris supplied Matthew with some of the recordings he made at Crosby Beach. Matthew worked on elements of those recordings to use in his performance on Saturday 13th September 2008 at the Bluecoat, Liverpool.
