This is a campaign I recently worked on where we set up an espionage-type agency called the 7thSyndikate. 75 London based bloggers interested in art and design were targeted with a bunch of weird coded messages e.g."the squirrel goes south for the winter", "the rains in Moscow shed blue skies", "my midget is thirsty" etc etc... Over the following three weeks we set them 7 tasks to complete online which were sent from the agency's website - 7thsyndikate.org
By D-day we got nearly half of the original number (some lost and gained) to turn up at the Albert Memorial (famously seen in the Ipcress Files and similar spy movies) to follow a 'Mark' all the way to the Victoria & Albert museum to finally reveal what this was all about - an exhibition of modern art and design from the Cold War era.
The people interviewed summed it up quite nicely, in that they got everything we were aiming to achieve - including the nail-biting moments of wondering if it was all going to work out. Happily it was wicked and we're looking forward to the next one!
