Nice - but what is the actual price point of this camera as configured at the end of this video? Is Henry Olonga correct?
  • This is the same thing I am wondering. I am awaiting the Epic-S. It's supposedly on $12,000. It was the Red Scarlet S35 which was $7,000 now it's the Red Epic-S. However as we know... that is easily subject to change. I HOPE NOT!

It's great it so nice and small! I like the clean, simple configuration in the video but it'd have to a little bigger in practice since there was no battery on it. Also did it have the whole host of I/O or is that a separate add on piece? Great video all around though!

Is there something similar for... 1.000€ ?
  • James Longley plus 8 months ago
The Canon T2i -- shoots footage with the same quality as the Canon 7D, which is not terrible. Of course, nothing like the RED EPIC, but not terrible. The T2i costs 500 Euro.

550D with the same quality as the 7D?
I dont think so. The most important components are the lenses...

    Thanks (and sorry english)

This guy reminds so much of Randy Harris from Liquid Assets. Maybe it's a sign, Randy; Into the Drink should start shooting RED Epic underwater!

those pop-up things are really distracting, especially the sound, & most of them don't even provide useful information.

Please DON'T take it personal But the skins look as bad on the epic as they look on the two previous red one sensors.
Here your face is a great EXAMPLE.. Look at your hands.. wow that monsterly BAD!!! And its beyond professional Color correction. In some epic frames also screams REC709.
I like your framing and your work but I'm staying with 35mm and if budget is very but very low than I get a pay cut to stay in Film, and if the budget keeps getting tighter or I don't do the job or I would go to Alexa.
I'm not selling My 435 Extreme EVER! they'll have to take it by pieces out of my cold dead hands.
I'm glad that at least you are making beautiful money though. Congrats for that !!!
