This is an excerpt from ReConstitution 2008, a performance series by Sosolimited. All three presidential debates were remixed live, as they happened, for theatre audiences. The first debate remix took place at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. This is footage from a DV cam in the back row, and that is why it sounds canned.

This segment begins with a fly's-eye kind of view of the candidates. As that effect fades out it can be seen that the video is extruded into three dimensional space. The last few seconds of video are actually stretched into the third dimension. As the candidates move, the motions of their hands and torsos can be seen swaying back and forth as zig-zags in space. Also, camera switches are quite pronounced as the old frames recede into the distance.
