A static quark and a static anti-quark are placed in the vacuum. The video shows the energy density in space as more and more gauge configurations are averaged out. The screen is first dominated by statistical noise (quantum fluctuations) then noise averages out and the qcd string connecting the quark and the anti-quark becomes visible.
