In April 2011 the Cape Cod Commission will again attempt to gain legislative approval for their "Minimum Performance Standards", loose standards under which the Cape Cod Commissioners would begin to regulate wind energy development on Cape Cod, a region mandated to bring forward renewable energy. Opponents to wind on Cape Cod are calling for setbacks of 6,600 feet from all wind installations on Cape Cod, which would in effect be a de facto moratorium on wind.
