"To Have & To Hold: Sixty Years"
Recently I had the privilege of traveling to Oregon to photograph this couple - Don & Roberta Byers. Their life together is truly one of commitment, faith, grace & love. Over their 60 years together, they have experienced much joy and heartache. Don now has Parkinson's Disease and no longer can stay in their home. Roberta spends several hours daily at the nursing care facility to be with him and care for him; this reminds me of what marriage is supposed to be. Even in these bittersweet times, I witnessed a great sense of humor, gratitude, & joy in both of them.
Their life together includes raising 6 children, many grandchildren, church ministry, teaching and serving as missionaries in Thailand. Relationships have always been a high priority to them. I have never met a family that knows as many people as this one.
Thank you to Rob & MaryJo Towns for allowing me to use "Be Thou My Vision" from their "Offering" cd. Please visit RobTowns.com where you can find out more about them & their music.
