Circle Jerk (Solo)
Digital video with stereo sound (18:49mins, looped)
Circle Jerk (Solo) is a fragile and tense choreography that maps the artist’s arrangement and ‘release’ of 12 pearlised white latex balloons, each containing helium gas and traces of semen. The work creates a poetic and circular loop as the subject’s matter merges with the object’s desire; interior space coincides with exterior forces; and membranes collapse under the weight of their own failing boundaries.
