    Thanks for the comments and glad you like it! Almost everything was animated in Maya and composited in AE. It may seem like an odd choice to make such a flat animation using a 3D program but after some initial tests we knew Maya would be a great tool for the look we where after. I added a video showing the animation controls for the tentacles.

    glad to see the animation getting more interest! the animation was roughly a month and a half of work which included 2 animators and 1 compositor. (and evan of course). However we had to come back to it inbetween projects so it wasnt completed all in one go.

    I love the richly dense style and structure of this short, reminds me of the works of Shy the Sun vimeo.com/user671160. The nice pacing and score by Peter Bowhan makes me wish it would go on longer, hopefully you are developing more work like this. Well done.

    we are big fans of shy the sun's work so thats a wonderful compliment! currently working on some generative art/interactive animations but hope to do another animated short soon.
