Isaac Wappes, 12, of Fort Wayne will compete in the Rubik’s U.S. Open 2007, which takes place Saturday-Sunday June 16-17 in Chicago.

The Blackhawk Middle School student demonstrated his skills at his home June 12, 2007.

His fastest time for solving the 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube is less than 34 seconds. Like many professional Speed-Cubers, Wappes can solve Cubes one-handed and with his feet.

The world record for solving a Cube is 10.48 seconds, set by Toby Mao at the U.S. National Championships 2006.
