After seeing someone do this in the visible spectrum youtube.com/watch?v=cW3Rwe4j05E I wanted to see what it looks like in infrared, and if you can spot any details explaining the design. The answer: nope.
If you think about it, this makes perfect sense. Things of various sizes are passing through every day, and you wouldn't want anything bumping into something sensitive.
