Sean I love your work. What kind of light modifier do you use to get that Projector Spotlight. Your stuff is intense bro..

Great shoot. Sometimes i wish there was audio so I could hear some of the direction. Do you do a lot of directing during the shoot, or do the models have an idea of what you are looking for and do their thing.
i also like the collaborative aspect to your shoots with Dondee. How does that interaction work when you are both photographers?

    thanks john

the reason i nix the audio in my behind the scenes footage is for privacy purposes and also because we don't normally have a great audio setup so it ends up sounding pretty shitty with all the background noise and all.

as far as directing the models/subjects, it really depends. some will do great on their own, while others will need a good deal of direction. i always like to have the subject do their own interpretation of the overall art direction because it is very much a collaborative effort between them and myself. I usually give them some references or emotions or moods to go by and just try to capture that.

as far as collaborating with other photographers, i find it can be a wonderful dynamic. i am always open to suggestion and it is a matter of respecting each other as professional artists. we are all there on set working towards a common goal, and the more ideas and creative energy we can feed from, the better.

yeah. sometimes i hate audio. haha.
good insights thought. i think that posing is something that i need to work on a lot more. well, if you are ever in the seattle area, i would love to collaborate!
