CukeSalad allows you to write cucumber scenarios without step definitions. There's still a little code to write - but that code focuses on the "Role" involved in the scenario and the "Tasks" being performed. There's no need to write any regular expression or create step-definition files

This enables a bonus feature, the ability to run the same scenarios, performing the same tasks but optionally drive them through either the GUI or the back-end api.
