First music video for Kingston, Ontario's "nerdgrass" band The Gertrudes.

This video was made possible by an amazing team of volunteers, puppeteers, and other creative individuals who poured hours of their time and multiple shoot days into making this video. Director Lenny Epstein dragged the Gertrudes through a swamp (literally) and had them rocking through the night in an ancient warehouse... All our friends and families chipped in and supported us through this one. It was down to the wire, but we released it on halloween night 2008 at the Modern Fuel Gallery in Kingston. I finished the opening and closing stop-motion animations and colour correcting on the day of the release, just hours before the showing!

    Very cool! Dig the puppets!
  • josh lyon 5 months ago
Thanks! The puppets are the work of three of Kingston (and the world's) top puppet makers: Gordon Darrall (Thin Edge Puppets), Annie Milne (Purple Dragon Puppet Troupe) and David Smith (D. Smith Marionettes) who does the actual puppeteering in the video.
