Painter Ann Getsinger has created a set of ten large oil paintings that she calls "Panoptica." The paintings describe a number of cycles - the light of one day, the change of four seasons, the transition from the Berkshire Hills to the coast of Maine. In addition, each painting is dominated by a still life, each built on a different idea.
In this 12 minute film, Ann Getsinger describes the impetus for this work, and provides details on each of the ten paintings. The film was created by Larry Burke.
